Home Grown

Albert Einstein once said that "creativity is seeing what everyone else has seen, and thinking what no else thought. "

Pretty damn good quote especially when it came to the pandemic shutting the world down right? A lot of us were told to stay home until we could return to work.

For most personal trainers/coaches we couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel when it came to going back to our profession. Gyms were shutdown and doors were closed.

Most of my clients were resilient and when one door closes, another one opened. That door was the opportunity to train at home.

The thought of training at home wasn't really respected at this time, because it usually meant lack of equipment, lack of resources, lack of motivation, and most importantly lack of creativity.

I was able to take my creativity and start helping people lead healthier lives all while training like minimalist online through zoom.

The idea of not having equipment would usually get me scoffed at and clients saying "can we even get a good workout without weights?" I'd tell them to sign up for one of the zoom sessions for free and see for yourself.

The client would quickly turn that scoffing into wheezing and catching their breath after the session.

The sessions were successful, because they meet you where you are. They're Designed to help those who are limited in resources, limited in equipment, and limited access to a gym.

The Gym has so many positives, but so does training at home. When we train at home we have the advantage of time.

We can literally train when it's convenient to us. If you have constraints you can work around them.

We have the environment to our advantage. We can improvise using furniture, door ways, kids (as weights), and it's all in the comfort of our home.

I designed Homegrown a 4 week at home program available on www.structuredstrengthsystems.com today to help people train, while using a minimalist approach.

The approach we use here is a 3 day split into upper and lower biased sessions, with an emphasis of total body training.

The sessions are broke down like this.

Monday is an upper body dominant session, with a lower body conditioning focus.

Wednesday is a Lower body dominant session, with an upper body conditioning focus.

Friday is a split down the middle with a huge emphasis on multi-planer core.

Some of the core principles that built home grown are stability, Endurance, and body awareness. We use methods that help deliver a better mind body connection, while helping you enhance your understanding of your breathe.

This program is a breathe of fresh air because of how much access you have to it. You don't need any equipment. You learn to understand your body. You can do any session in any sequence you like.

If you like Training, you'll continue to do it. The goal isn't to create friction and tension in your life. This isn't sustainable at all when it comes to training.

Homegrown is about having fun, and keep progressing from week to week. That persistent growth builds momentum.

The more momentum we have the more reps we get in.

Keep getting those reps in amrap as many reps as possible.
